The Magic of Handcrafted Work
There’s no doubt that we live in a world increasingly dominated by mass production, where high productivity and profit margins dictate the pace and method of manufacturing any object. Numbers are numbers, but at what other cost?
A passion for craftsmanship led Eloy Puig, co-founder of El Torrent, to create his first lamps using unique gourds that he hollowed out himself—gourds that would later inspire our logo, but that’s a story for another day.
After decades of experience and evolution, El Torrent continues to embrace artisanal work. Each of our pieces tells a story of dedication and love for the craft, whether it’s working with wood, rope, natural fabrics like cotton or linen, cork, or, as showcased in the Nucli collection, hand-turning each ceramic piece using traditional techniques while integrating technology that ensures quality.
The artisanal process requires patience and precision. No two pieces are identical: each one reflects the hand of its creator, the attention to detail, and the care with which it was made. The energy that flows from these skilled hands is embedded in each lamp, giving it a unique and unrepeatable character.
