They are clear: their
ideal luminaire is one that has “… the ability to excite the user.
For them it´s
clear: the ideal lighting is that one that creates emotion to the end user. The
one that even is turned off, creates a nice surrounding. When this one turns on, it creates that the
environment comes alive!
They told us that they have imagined this new model
based on “… Respect for matter. Treat lighting through an artisanal way,
with materials that do not respond to a price strategy but to the philosophy of
the brand itself …”
The talk was
longer, but we will tell you little by little.
The interior designer Rosa Colet has been the reform of the Atlàntida Restaurants, in the Maresme Region. For them, she has found in Koord model, the perfect ally to achieve an intimate but with character lighting. “These lamps provide a direct point of light on the tables, as well as the possibility of customising colours and coordinating the chromatic range with the upholstery …”, Rosa tells us.
First and second year Product students at LCI Design School in Barcelona will elaborate a new collection of lamps for El Torrent that will be launched in 2019.
We have already begun to work with a visit to our workshop of 12 students and their two teachers. It was a productive session in which we tell them our work philosophy, based on creativity, teamwork and inspired by nature and the fantastic environment that surrounds us.
Joan Genebat, our industrial designer, marked the basic lines that the new collection must meet: origin, simplicity, warmth, environment and sustainability. And Jordi Puig, the production manager, taught the students about the manufacturing process in our factory.
Thanks to this collaboration, students will be able to know the real project of a company based on author work, far from industrial and standardized processes. For us, this new collection allows us to support young talents. Their creations will be presented with their name under the values and philosophy of our brand.
Embedded within Pago de Carraovejas (Peñafiel, Valladolid, Spain), Ambivium restaurant was born from the tireless research for the perfect balance between tradition and innovation. It is a restaurant ready to awaken all your senses, it is a different gastronomic proposal in the Ribera del Duero, an enotourism experience with which we collaborate with our Versatil lamps. A hanging and modular model with a modern and contemporary style.
In that project, the architecture studio wanted to give a major importance to the light and the integration of the restaurant with the surroundings. And that is where Versatil fuses its forms with the undulating terrain of the vineyards that surround the room. It is an Eloy Puig design available in three different sizes that allow you to create circles or, as in Ambivium, billowing and suggestive shapes. It is a modular model with LED 2700k included, it has three different lengths and it offers now a narrower height. Versatil includes a height adjustment system using steel cables and a single point of light for all modules.
Quality, avant-garde and a deep respect for the traditional define the proposal of Ambivium restaurant, and the philosophy of El Torrent can not fit better in a place like this.
El Torrent started this 2018 working hard in the new catalog that will be released in few weeks. In fact, we are already finalizing the details of the book that will collect every single novelty.
The 2018 catalog will put the accent on five new collections. The first one will be AURA, a model that will be presented during the month of February. AURA is a wall lamp designed by Joan Genebat handmade with mineral cast. However, AURA is not the one and unique collection we prepared, we also created HOOPS and EROL, both are wall lamps that combine wood with different materials. Apart from wall lamps, we created JUNE, a floor lamp you will discover shortly, and DENTO, a beautiful hanging lamp.
El Torrent’s new catalog aims to transmit the soul of our creations. That is why we worked with the best graphic designers and photographers. Estudi Cel·lula is a prestigious team of creative minds that provided the catalog with a clean, organized and useful design.
For Starp Estudi, in charge of the photography, Mas Can Batlle as well as El Torrent were an important source of inspiration. Mas Can Batlle is also one of the few Catalan rural houses with five wheat ears (similar to five stars applied to hotels), and it was where we shotted. All this allowed us to experiment with lights and shadows, with the different decorations of the farmhouse and the natural surroundings.
The result is a project that shines with its own light. We are looking forward to show you the new El Torrent catalog for this 2018, so stay tuned!
